Terms and Conditions for Customers

Welcome to GrabChef! By using our app, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully, as they govern your use of the GrabChef app and services. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our app.

Introduction

1.1. GrabChef is a platform that connects customers with independent chefs who offer in-home cooking services. 

1.2. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the GrabChef app and services. 1.3. GrabChef acts solely as a platform to facilitate these connections and does not provide cooking services or guarantee the quality of services rendered by chefs.

Definitions

2.1. “App” refers to the GrabChef mobile application and website. 

2.2. “Customer” refers to the individual using the app to book chefs.

 2.3. “Chef” refers to the independent contractor providing cooking services through the app. 2.4. “Services” refers to the cooking services provided by chefs and all related activities facilitated by the app.

Eligibility

3.1. Customers and chefs must be at least 20 years old to use the app.

3.2 GrabChef reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Account Registration

4.1. Customers are required to register an account to use the app. 

4.2. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

4.3. Any unauthorized use of your account must be reported to GrabChef immediately.

Service Scope

5.1. GrabChef connects customers with private chefs for in-home cooking services.

5.2. Chefs are independent contractors, and GrabChef acts solely as a platform to facilitate these connections.

5.3. GrabChef does not provide cooking services or guarantee the quality of services rendered by chefs.

Booking Process

6.1. Customers can browse and select chefs based on availability, menus, and reviews.

6.2. GrabChef collects a 25% advance commission at the time of booking through the app. The remaining payment is to be made directly to the chef on the service day, either in cash or via bank transfer. 

6.3. GrabChef facilitates the booking but does not directly provide cooking services.

Customer Obligations

7.1. Provide a clean and functional kitchen environment with basic tools and utensils.

 7.2. Ensure all required ingredients are available unless otherwise agreed. 

7.3. Treat chefs with respect and maintain appropriate behavior. 

7.4. Customers must not share personal information such as phone numbers, email addresses, or last names in the app’s chatbox. Violation of this rule will result in immediate account suspension or deletion. 

7.5. Notify GrabChef immediately of any issues or complaints regarding the service. 

7.6. Dietary Allergens: Customers must provide all dietary and allergen information to the chef. GrabChef is not liable if correct information was given to the chef regarding the dishes. 7.7. Ingredient Clarification: Customers must ask all important questions about the ingredients used in the menu.

 7.8. Respectful Conduct: Customers must treat chefs with respect and must not threaten, harass, or bully chefs based on clothing, looks, or religious beliefs

7.9. Misconduct Consequences: If a chef reports misconduct with proof, the customer’s account will be terminated, and GrabChef will not intervene if the chef takes legal action against the customer. 

7.10. Advance Payment Obligation: Customers are responsible for making the 25% advance payment through the app to confirm the booking. 

7.11. Remaining Payment Obligation: Customers must pay the remaining 75% directly to the chef on the service day via cash or bank transfer.

 7.12. Currency: All payments will be processed in Pakistani Rupees (PKR).

Chef Responsibilities

8.1. Chefs are responsible for delivering services as agreed upon during booking. 

8.2. Chefs must adhere to food safety and hygiene standards. 

8.3. Any misconduct, substandard service, or misuse of the app will result in removal from the platform.

Customer Responsibilities

  • Customers must provide a clean and hygienic cooking environment for the chef.
  • Customers need to guide the chef upon arrival, informing them where necessary ingredients, utensils, and equipment are located.
  • Customers must communicate clearly with the chef regarding all ingredient and utensil requirements to ensure a smooth cooking process.
  • Customers are obliged to act appropriately and with respect towards chefs at all times.
  • Harassment, bullying, or the use of abusive language towards the chef is strictly prohibited. If such behavior occurs, the chef has the right to leave immediately without completing the service, and the customer will not receive a refund on the advance payment. Additionally, the customer’s account will be permanently banned from the GrabChef platform.

Chatbox and Picture Upload Guidelines

10.1. The chatbox and picture upload features are for discussing service details only. Prohibited activities include:

  • Sharing personal contact information such as phone numbers, emails, or last names.
  • Using abusive, inappropriate, or discriminatory language.
  • Sharing explicit, harmful, or irrelevant images.

 10.2. Any misuse of these features will result in account suspension or termination.

Cancellations and Refunds

11.1. Customer Cancellations:

  • Free cancellations are allowed up to 3 hours before the scheduled service.
  • Late cancellations (less than 3 hours) will result in the forfeiture of the 25% advance payment, which will not be refunded.

11.2. Chef Cancellations:

  • Customers will receive a full refund if the chef cancels
  • GrabChef will assist in rebooking another chef if desired.

11.3. Refund Processing:

  • Refunds will be processed within 10-15 business days.

Payment Terms

12.1. GrabChef collects a 25% commission at the time of booking. 

12.2. The remaining 75% of payment is made directly to the chef by the customer on the day of service, either in cash or via bank transfer. 

11.3. Circumventing the app’s payment system is prohibited and may result in account termination.

Prohibited Activities

13.1. Customers and chefs are prohibited from:

  • Engaging in illegal activities.
  • Circumventing the app’s payment system.
  • Misusing or exploiting the platform for fraudulent purposes.
  • Sharing personal contact details or private information through the chatbox.
  • Using the app for any purpose other than the services provided. 

13.2. Violations may result in account suspension and legal action under applicable laws.

Liability and Disclaimers

14.1. GrabChef acts as a facilitator and is not liable for the quality of services provided by chefs. 14.2. GrabChef is not responsible for:

  • Injuries or damages caused during the service.
  • Misconduct or negligence by chefs or customers. 

14.3. Users agree to indemnify GrabChef against any claims arising from their use of the app.
